Bridge House offers a Sit Up Service, which provides food, shelter, safety and warmth for anyone sleeping rough. It runs 7 nights a week from 2200-0900.
So, what is a Sit Up Service? At Bridge House we use our front lounge for rough sleepers to ‘Sit Up’ and stay safe overnight until statutory services open at 9 o’clock the next morning where they can get help.
Our dedicated Sit Up Service Project Workers, Matthew and Kelly support the individuals who stay overnight.
Access to the service is by referral from the Emergency Duty Team, and places are available from 22.00 – 09.00.
Clients using the service will be able to:
- Use our shower facilities - a full pack of toiletries and towels are provided
- Have their clothes washed
- Have fresh night clothes ready for them to wear while they wait for their items to be dried
- Have food and drinks available for them during the night.
At 09.00 the next morning support staff from the Local Authorities Housing Team will work with the clients to ensure appropriate accommodation is found as soon as possible.
